Josh Malwick

Josh Malwick

Josh “Biff” Malwick was inducted into the Beta class of the Gamma Xi Hall of Fame. Young Josh came to us from the rolling hills of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Beginning classes at East Central in the Fall of 1998, Josh associated himself with the Gamma Xi chapter and was initiated in the Fall of 1998.

After spending some time as an active, Josh moved on to OU and got his engineering degree, going on to a successful career as a civil engineer. Josh has served his chapter for many years in many different ways. He began serving on the Gamma Xi Board of Governors shortly after leaving East Central University and stepped down in 2016 after 10 years as the financial chair and 4 years as the Chairman of the Gamma Xi Board of Governors.

That’s one Friday a month for a man in his 20s and 30s for 14 years. Many of those Fridays were spent driving with Jason Miller and John Gibson from Norman.  One time only a single Resident Council member showed up for the BoG meeting. This was obviously a poor showing by the Resident Council.  Undaunted, Josh, John and Jason turned around and left and probably went to have dinner and drinks. That’s one example of one Friday of those men spending 3 hours in a car and then not even being appreciated for the time they took to serve their chapter. Josh is clearly one of the men responsible for keeping the Chapter doors open and deserved induction into the Gamma Xi Hall of Fame.
