Stanley L. Anderson

After graduating from East Central in May 1973, Stan married and moved to the east coast. He and his wife, Mary, worked and lived in the Washington, D.C., area before moving back to Oklahoma in July 1975, when Stan was accepted into law school at the University of Tulsa College of Law.

He received his juris doctor degree in May 1978. After passing the bar exam, he decided to return to his hometown of Tishomingo to establish a private law practice. In December 1980 he was sworn in as associate district judge of Johnston County, a position he held until 1987 when he resigned the judgeship to go back into private practice.

Stan remained in private practice as an attorney in Tishomingo until his death on May 9, 2000. He is survived by his wife Mary and three children, Cliff, Elise and Todd. He was very proud to be a founding member and past president of East Central’s Phi Kappa Tau chapter, and had many fond memories of his fraternity years at East Central.
