Rance Garland Stein, a proud Phi Tau and alumnus of East Central University (ECU), has been inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the sport and his remarkable career.

He was initiated on December 7, 1979, alongside his pledge brothers Curt Bailey, Susumu Daniels, Chris Decker, Robert Leatherwood, Robert Plunk, Mark Prentice, Freddie Smith, Mark Sparlin, and Randy Stewart. Becoming a Phi Tau helped set the stage for his future successes. Rance is also an active member of the Phi Kappa Tau Alumni Club.

After graduating from ECU, Rance earned his law degree from the University of Oklahoma School of Law. He has since become an award-winning immigration attorney with over 36 years of experience. Rance is also a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, whose commitment to family deeply influences his work in reuniting families from around the world.

In June 2022, Rance launched his own business after years of leadership at another firm. His extensive experience makes him a valuable resource for clients navigating the complexities of U.S. immigration law. His expertise covers a wide range of immigration services, including visas, work authorization, permanent residency, naturalization, relief from deportation and removal, and asylum.

Rance’s passion for wrestling is equally impressive. He served as a high school wrestling official for 30 years and as a freestyle and Greco-Roman official for 15 years. From 2007 to 2019, he volunteered as a coach for the Oklahoma City University women’s wrestling team, helping them win four Women’s Collegiate Wrestling Association national titles and five national dual titles.

Off the mat, Rance has been a dedicated member and officer of USA Oklahoma, a former member of the USA Wrestling Board of Directors, and has served on numerous committees at both state and national levels, including the USA Wrestling Kids Council. His efforts have been crucial in bringing national wrestling events to Oklahoma, such as USA Wrestling’s Junior National Duals and the women’s University Nationals.
